The Lochgair
is a house designed to fit a very shallow site
of only 5.5m in depth between a public road and a sea
wall.
It was built atop an old boat-shed and
both the corner
bay window and the dining room were, in fact, partially
cantilevered out over the sea loch and the whole
included a small patio at one end and space for visiting
cars at the other end. It's 132 sq. metres provided 2
double bedrooms (one with en suite), a
study/bedroom, kitchen/breakfast room, living room,
separate dining room and shows just how one can
shoe-horn a reasonably-sized house onto a tiny plot,
with every room facing the view.
